    A World without thirst

OUR VISION

“Water for All – All for Water.” To provide all people with access to safe drinking water, hygiene facilities and basic sanitation. 703 million people worldwide do not have access to a basic supply of clean drinking water.”

Mission: To increase the sustainable access to basic Water, Sanitation and Hygiene services for all Ugandans through joyful experiences.

OUR APPROACH

Our Universal Languages Approach (ULA) uses sports, music, dance, and art to communicate messages and raise awareness on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). This approach, the Universal Languages for Behavioural Change (UL4BC) is based on the notion that behaviour change does not happen in one step but rather happens over a period of time.

WASH Strategy

Our WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) strategy is designed to continue the evolution of Viva con Agua from a donor to also directly implementing WASH projects alongside continuing to fund partners.

We want to do this because we want our core set of values and approaches, in particular, with BEHAVIOUR CHANGE to be an integral part of any project that is implemented. We want to whole-heartedly support and contribute towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal 6: “Clean Water and Sanitation”

GLOBAL WASH PROGRAM

Globally, there are varied efforts from multiple players: – Governments, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and individuals at all levels, geared at increasing access to WASH. This has, thus guided several approaches in the WASH sector to achieve universal access to WASH services for all, especially in the global south.

Although water and sanitation are accepted as human rights, worldwide still 2,2 billion people do not have access to safely managed drinking water and 3.6 billion people lack safely managed sanitation.

ALL 4 WASH PROGRAM

Improved WASH in school knowledge and practice are crucial to human health and well-being. Safe WASH is not only a prerequisite to the health and well-being of school-going children, but also contributes to the livelihood, school attendance, and dignity of children and creates resilient school communities, thus living in healthy environments.

In a bid to manage WASH-related epidemics, sustainable access to safe water, sanitation services and hygienic practices are critical for building the resilience of schools to future outbreaks.

WATERPROOF PROJECT

Waterproof, is a “Dance4WASH” program implemented under our ULA (Universal Language Approach). Through the medium of Dance, we are promoting messages for infection prevention, control, and increased pandemic resilience by encouraging kids (aged 8-18), to wash their hands.

Beyond celebration, dance is easily adapted to different contexts such as learning, communicating, mobilizing, activating, and transforming. Everyone can participate regardless of age, gender, or physical abilities.
